Project Overview
We are very proud to deliver the extension and remodelling of the Staffordshire Archive Building, creating the impressive Staffordshire History Centre. An exciting opportunity for us to transform and modernise the existing facilities, the end product provides a state-of-the-art space that supports Staffordshire’s invaluable historical archives.
The scope included constructing a new concrete frame extension to expand the building’s capacity and enhance its functionality. This carefully planned addition ensures the centre meets the demands of the future.
We also carried out comprehensive mechanical and electrical works, installing modern systems to improve efficiency and sustainability throughout the building. These upgrades were crucial to delivering a facility that operates to the highest standards.
The courtyard area received a complete transformation, with the installation of a striking glazed canopy and beautifully designed landscaping. These enhancements create an inviting, open space that complements the building’s design and enriches the visitor experience.
An important part of the project included a sympathetic refurbishment of the historic Grade II* Listed William Salt Library. We preserved its character while modernising its facilities, ensuring this important piece of Staffordshire’s heritage continues to serve future generations.
Delivering the Staffordshire History Centre has been a privilege, and we’re delighted to have played a part in creating a hub for research, exhibitions, and archival preservation for many generations to come.
