Project Overview

The project included the refurbishment of The Elms, a large three storey property with basement located at Rhosddu Road Wrexham for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The works included the construction of a single storey ground floor extension to the rear of the building with zinc cladding and a single ply membrane roof.

The refurbishment of the building included full strip out of existing services, fittings and finishes, stripping the existing roof coverings, installation of new roof lights, repairs as required and re-roofing the building and bay windows. Structural works included removal of staircases, removal of partitions and chimney breasts and the installation of a new staircase along with a platform lift and partitions to suit the revised layout. New mechanical and electrical installations along with sanitary fittings, kitchens and clinic units and finally new finishes and redecoration.

Externally all brickwork was cleaned and re-pointed. All sash windows were replaced.

The scheme achieved a BREEAM rating of very good.
