Project Overview

This project involved the construction of a two storey Innovation Centre, incorporating office space, meeting rooms, laboratories, development and presentation kitchens, together with pilot plant production facilities.

The 1500m2 building was a steel frame, with flat concrete floors and a pitched roof. The external walls comprised a combination of timber cladding, insulated render and aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling. The roof is a combination of aluminium standing seam and green roof, whose interface between the 2 construction materials proved to be quite challenging.

The building was fully fitted out, with the exception of the employer supplied fixtures, furniture and equipment.

External works included services, drainage and hard and soft landscaping.

As this was a design and build project, the design team was novated over to us and all design was co-ordinated through Pave Aways. Duration 40 weeks, JCT design and build contract.
