Project Overview

We were involved at an early stage of design process, enabling us to ensure that the design was correct and the vision of the College could be realised.

Following the completion of 15 previous contracts on site, this was a project that we negotiated with Concord College. This was a 22 laboratory science block, with associated prep rooms and classrooms, and was located on the site of the previous Estates Department (which we also negotiated to relocate elsewhere on campus).

The building was located on the main campus entrance road, and the footprint of the proposed building was the same size as the site boundary. This meant that site management was key to keeping a tidy and safe site, due to its location within the college.

This was a masonry building, with precast concrete first floor and a metal roof deck supported on lattice beams, both of these, together with the external windows were Contractor Design Portions. Duration 68 weeks.
