Supporting Lingen Davies on World Cancer Day

Today, on World Cancer Day, our entire team came together across Telford, Stoke, and Mid Wales to show our support for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, our incredibly deserving Charity of the Year.

Our teams were out on sites across the region, raising awareness about cancer and the importance of early detection and access to support services.

This cause resonates deeply within our Pave Aways family. Our very own Site Manager, Andy Pagett, has bravely battled cancer and experienced first-hand the exceptional care and compassion provided by Lingen Davies.

“Cancer is never easy, but everyone at the Lingen Davies Centre continues to make the process better,” shares Andy. “They have supported me through chemotherapy and radiotherapy from my diagnosis in 2016 all the way through to now. I’ve always believed I would ‘Rise Above,’ and with Lingen Davies’ support, I am doing just that.”

Andy’s positive spirit is an inspiration to us all. His journey highlights the crucial role Lingen Davies plays in providing not just medical treatment, but also emotional and practical support to individuals and families facing cancer.

We’re incredibly grateful to Andy for sharing his story and for being such a strong advocate for Lingen Davies.

As Pave Aways’ chosen Charity of the Year, we are fundraising for Lingen Davies throughout 2025. We have set ambitious fundraising targets with several exciting events planned.

On May 17th, Pave Aways will be sponsoring a colour station at each Colour Run in Shrewsbury, Telford, and Caersws, as part of the Lingen Davies ColourFest. Participants can look forward to a vibrant and fun-filled experience while supporting a worthy cause.

Furthermore, Pave Aways will be hosting a fundraising ball in June, with all proceeds going directly to Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Details about the ball, including ticket information and sponsorship opportunities, will be released soon.
