After an incredible 22 years with Pave Aways, our esteemed site manager, Gerald, is hanging up his hard hat and retiring. Gerald has been an integral part of our team, leaving an unforgettable mark on every project he’s been a part of.
From his early days, working on the Oswestry framework and Wrexham’s development framework, to the more recent projects such as YASA’s new Research & Development Centre, to the refurbishment projects at Ladywell House in Newtown and the Copthorne Barracks in Shrewsbury, his commitment to excellence and attention to detail have set the bar high for all of us at Pave Aways.
But Gerald’s impact goes beyond just the sites he’s managed. He’s been a great mentor, developing numerous apprentices and trainees along the way. His willingness to share knowledge and to support others has left a lasting legacy within the company.
Managing Director, Steven Owen, reflects on Gerald’s legacy, saying, “Gerald’s manner and capabilities to collaborate with clients and trades is second to none. He’s been an invaluable asset to our team, and he will be sorely missed. We wish him all the best in his retirement and thank him for his dedication and hard work over the years.”
Former Pave Aways Site Manger, Tony Martin, recollects his time with Gerald, and says “On arrival to site each morning he would sing as loud as he could ‘oh what a wonderful morning!’ and would never let the weather get in the way. Gerald is a good friend and always looked on the positives of life, with a mischievous glint in his eye.”
As Gerald embarks on this new chapter of his life, we want to express our deepest gratitude for his years of service, dedication, and the many laughs he has shared with us. Here’s to you, Gerald – may your retirement be filled with many well-deserved adventures!
