Our apprentice carpenter Jon Goss is celebrating after being shortlisted for a top industry award.
Jon will find out on October 14 whether he has won the Level 2 construction apprentice of the year prize at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards.
Jon was nominated by Pave Aways and is one of five apprentices from around the country to make it to the final. As well as the nomination, Jon had to take part in an online interview with the judges to make it through to the final stage.
Pave Aways training manager Michelle Benjamin said: “We are very proud that Jon has made it through to this stage of the competition and really hope he picks up the trophy in the final.
“Since joining us as an apprentice, Jon has shown that he has the dedication, skill and willingness to learn that will take him a long way in the construction industry. He is a real asset to Pave Aways and we look forward to seeing where his career will lead.”
The winners of the Construction Apprentice Awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the impressive FutureSkills venue at Media City in Salford, home of Salford City College Group.
There are six categories for the event, which is sponsored by the Construction EPA Company.
