Our training manager Michelle recently visited the new SBC Training Construction Centre in Shrewsbury to discuss opportunities for work experience on our sites for their trainees.
The Construction Training Centre at Centurian Park in Harlescott will support people whose career aims have been disrupted by Covid as well as helping to meet some of the skills shortfall that the construction sector is experiencing.
Michelle met the Managing Director Colin Thaw and Clair Schafer, the Director of Marketing and Business Development to talk about how Pave Aways will support this very important initiative for the construction sector in Shropshire.
The training centre will run foundation courses to prepare young people with the employability and basic construction skills that employers need to progress them into apprenticeships. It will also offer return to work courses to give unemployed people basic site skills and to prepare them to achieve a CSCS card.
