Students from the Marches School in Oswestry have some new additions to their school grounds after successfully completing one of our Build a Bench workshops.
The group of Year 10 students learned practical design and construction skills during the workshop at our Knockin HQ last month. They also gained vital experience in working together as they formed teams to build a bench from scratch out of pallets. The finished benches now have pride of place in the school grounds.
Pave Aways training manager Michelle Benjamin, who organised the event, said the students had done a great job.
“It was really good to see them put their knowledge to practical use and get some guidance from our team. There was a big of sense of achievement – and some healthy competition – from all involved and we’re delighted the benches are now being well used at school.”
