Pave Aways scooped the award for best business for its commitment to education and training at the Shropshire Business Awards.
We picked up the title at the Shropshire Chamber event that was held virtually due to coronavirus on November 20 following an independent judging process that was also conducted virtually.
The judges met our commercial director Victoria, contracts manager Stefan, training co-ordinator Michelle and apprentice Carl and learned more about our company-wide commitment to bringing on the next generation of construction workers.
Managing Director Steven Owen said: “Winning this award is a huge boost for us all as it reinforces the efforts we’re making to offer education and training to young people and to build a sustainable future for our business.
“Following on from our Company of the Year award in 2019, it underpins the fact that we’re a business that does more than focus on commercial success but invests in and supports our people to be the best we can be.
“We are looking to offer more services to the schools and colleges in the areas we work and welcome invitations from interested parties for careers days or training days.”
Here’s our commercial director Victoria accepting the award on our behalf:
We also sponsored and judged the Business in the Community award, which went to the Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant Eli Wilkinson. We were immensely impressed with Eli and the work she is doing – a very worthy winner!
