1973 was the year that Britain joined the European Economic Community (which became the EU) and the Vietnam War ended – it was also the year that Pave Aways began!
Back in October ’73, our focus was civil engineering including groundworks, hard landscaping, and constructing paths, drives and roads for local builders and private clients, which is how we got our name.
Over time the firm took on building maintenance contracts at military and other establishments and gradually construction became the main activity of the business.
Now with a turnover in excess of £30m and a dedicated team of more than 100 staff, it’s fair to say we’ve come a long way.
We’ll be highlighting some of the people and projects that have shaped our 45 years on social media as we celebrate our milestone – follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see some of the highlights of #paveawaysat45.
We’re proud of the many, many buildings that we’ve constructed over the years and how we have played a part in the development of businesses, schools, and other organisations across Shropshire, Wales, the Midlands and beyond.
And although the name ‘Pave Aways’ is no longer an accurate description of our business, we’re definitely here to stay with exciting plans for growth. Here’s to the next 45 years and building our future together!
