As the new school year got underway, we were very pleased to hand over our latest education project at Tarporley School in Cheshire.
The £1.5 million project has extended and remodelled the school to allow for an increase in pupil numbers and included building four new classrooms, a larger hall, new entrance, multi use games area, and playground.
The new accommodation means the popular school, which is currently over subscribed, can offer an additional 105 places, increasing the roll to 315 pupils.
Year 3 pupils described their new classroom as “impressive”, “awesome” and “amazing” when they received a first look at their new base.
We completed the nine-month build on time and on budget.
Gill Tyler, Chair of the school’s governing body, said: “This has been a significant development for our school and we are delighted with the end result.
“The school now has excellent facilities and is future proofed to allow for an increased number of pupils
“Children have watched progress with interest and it has been a learning process for them as well with Pave Aways giving assemblies on health and safety and construction.”
Tarporley is the latest in a string of contracts in the education sector this year. In the last financial year, we completed education projects worth more than £15m.
Managing Director Steven Owen said: “Our vast experience in the education sector has enabled us to work closely with the governors and the school to translate their vision into reality with as little disruption as possible for day-to-day school life.
“It has been a very exciting build to work on and great to see the children’s reactions as their new look school took shape.
“This has been a flagship project for us as we are doing an increasing amount of work in the education sector and in Cheshire as a whole.”
We are also working on another high profile building project in Cheshire after being commissioned to build the new £10m state of the art luxury spa at Carden Park.
We began work at the hotel and golf course, dubbed Cheshire’s country estate, in June and the new facility will open in summer 2019.
